Learning Link Parent Letter

To whom it may concern,

I am a parent of four children who attend the Learning Link at Hampton Oaks.

The Learning Link has tremendously helped me out being a single parent. I moved from a county that had very limited resources when it came down to after school care. It cost a lot for someone like me who has limited income and can't afford after school care. The Learning Link is a safe haven for my children, when the children go there I feel more at ease. The staff there is very caring and compassionate when it comes to the welfare of the children. They care for them as if they are their children. Learning Link is about the education of the children because they make sure there homework is completed and done correctly. As a parent that is a relief because that is one less homework assignment I have to go over after leaving a full-time job, cooking dinner and all the other duties I have being a single parent. The center supports me as a parent and my children in the midst of all the things that might be going on in our lives. The staff is very involved in the community and always trying to see what they can do as a whole to improve the community. The staff is like an extra parent because they go into schools to check on my child's progress and attend different programs if I’m unable to attend. The staff at the Learning Link is me in the absence of me. I have had a very positive experience while my child has been at the Learning Link. My child speaks highly about the program, and the highlight of her day is when she can share her high’s & low's for the day with the staff. I would like to thank the staff for being so compassionate, positive, and caring to my child; also for just having the passion to make this program what it is today. This is a true blessing for me as a single parent.”

Thank you,

AH

Hope House Accomplishments Are Compelling!
Hope House has distinguished itself as an integral component in the collective effort to reduce chronic homelessness in Georgia. Referrals come from throughout the Atlanta region and even from across the state. Because of Hope House, hundreds of formerly homeless men in recovery have returned to the workplace, found permanent housing and learned new behaviors to positively impact their families and community. Since opening its doors three years ago, member sobriety has held at an annual rate of over 70% each year, notable because the national average is less than 50%! Further, more than 60% of our members have successfully progressed through program levels, obtained employment and/or moved on to permanent housing.

Hope House celebrates its 5th anniversary this year. Over those years, more than 1,000 men have passed through its doors and have left with life-changing help for the better.
