Celebrating 20 Years of Hope

CaringWorks partners, supporters, clients, alumni, friends, and staff gathered on May 8 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Hope House. This event was a powerful way to commemorate what has become a trusted refuge and life-changing stepping stone for so many in our community. To commemorate the anniversary, the City of Atlanta issued a proclamation declaring May 8 as Hope House Day.

For two decades, Hope House has provided a judgment-free place for men facing some of life’s hardest challenges—homelessness, addiction, mental illness, and trauma. Since its inception in 2005, Hope House has given thousands of men another chance at hope; it’s a place for them to heal, and to gain the support and tools that empower them to thrive, despite their challenges.

Hope House is more than just a building or a program. It is a vital solution to ending homelessness, and it proves that when we invest in people—especially those often overlooked—we don’t just transform individual lives; we build stronger, healthier communities.

About Hope House:
Hope House’s 70-bed facility provides one-of-a-kind supportive housing for adult men who have experienced homelessness and are in recovery from substance addiction. Each year more than 130 clients call Hope House home while they move through their journey of recovery. The alumni of Hope House and other clients we serve find more than their sobriety; they learn new skills, develop reliable sources of income, and create a healthy social network to support their future dreams. Hope House also offers targeted services for Veterans, ex-offenders, individuals living with HIV/AIDS, and men who are deaf or hard-of-hearing.
