Support That Goes Beyond Housing

At CaringWorks, community engagement and personal growth go hand in hand. In early 2026, clients and staff took part in two activities that shared a common purpose: creating opportunities for connection, contribution, and personal growth.

During MLK Service Week, several clients and staff volunteered with P.O.W.E.R. Atlanta at a community food distribution. Clients helped organize food items and distribute groceries to individuals and families facing food insecurity, housing instability, and health challenges.

For many participants, the experience was especially impactful. Several clients have experienced food insecurity themselves, and volunteering offered a chance to give back in a way that felt respectful and affirming. Serving alongside staff allowed clients to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. while contributing to the broader community—not as recipients of support, but as neighbors helping neighbors. This volunteer opportunity was coordinated through Hands On Atlanta, which continues to be a valuable resource for identifying accessible and purposeful service opportunities for clients.

CaringWorks also hosted a 2026 Vision Board Workshop as another way to support client growth. The session focused on helping clients reflect on their goals and intentions for the year ahead, helping them visualize progress, stability, and future aspirations.

These events demonstrate CaringWorks’ approach to support: we encourage clients to engage with their community while also investing time in their own development. Whether through service or reflection, both opportunities reinforced the idea that stability isn’t just about housing.
