CaringWorks Announces New Chief Financial Officer

Chris Hester, Nonprofit Finance Executive, Joins CaringWorks Team

CaringWorks, a nonprofit agency working to end homelessness by providing access to safe, affordable housing and support services, today announced the appointment of Chris Hester as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). As CFO, Hester ensures CaringWorks complies with all financial and reporting standards and acts as a good steward of the funding entrusted to the organization.

A seasoned accountant with more than 30 years of business and nonprofit experience, Hester brings strong analytical skills and a policy and procedural background to his new role at CaringWorks. He also brings a passion for the work CaringWorks performs in the community. Most recently, Hester served as vice president of finance and operations for the Center for the Visually Impaired in Atlanta. He also served as director of finance and administration for the DeKalb Preparatory Academy and Jerusalem House.

In his new position, Hester also serves as a member of the CaringWorks management team and oversees the annual operating budget. CaringWorks is one of the largest providers of supportive housing in the Greater Atlanta area, serving hundreds of individuals and families each year.

“I am thrilled to join the CaringWorks family,” said Hester. “I feel that my career journey has led me home and I look forward to helping our staff guide others to a stable home through my work in the finance and management areas.”

Hester holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from Georgia State University. He also earned a Master of Public Administration in nonprofit management from Georgia State University, where he held membership in the national honor society Phi Alpha Alpha.
