Helping Each Other Out – Local Business Group Purchases Easter Dinner for Hope House Residents

CaringWorks, a non-profit agency working to end homelessness by providing access to safe, affordable housing and support services, will host the inaugural
Hope House Heroes event on Thursday, April 2, from 7:30 – 9 a.m.

The event takes place at the Carter Center, located at 453 John Lewis Freedom Parkway NE in Atlanta. The event celebrates the 15th anniversary of Hope House and its founding sponsors, including former mayor Shirley Franklin. The event will also raise money for necessary repairs to the roof and building of Hope House.

Located downtown Atlanta across from City Hall, Hope House helps over 150 homeless men each year recover from substance addiction and/or mental health issues so they can return to
their families and the community. Hope House also offers targeted services for Veterans, exoffenders, individuals living with HIV/AIDS, and men who are deaf or hard-of-hearing.

Former mayor Shirley Franklin will serve as the keynote speaker during the event. She will be honored for her 15 years of dedicated service in the Atlanta Community as well as her work supporting Hope House. Rose Scott of WABE 90.1 FM will serve as master of ceremonies during the event.

“The 15th anniversary of Hope House is the perfect occasion to bring visibility to an important program that is transforming the lives of Atlanta’s homeless men every day,” said Carol Collard, president and CEO, CaringWorks. “We are honored to have Shirley Franklin as our keynote speaker during the event to help bring further attention to the work we’re doing and what still needs to be accomplished.”

Individual tickets, as well as sponsorship packages, are available. For more information, contact Barbara Peters at barbarapeters@caringworksinc.org or at (404) 371-1230.
