CaringWorks Honored as Outstanding Behavioral Health Provider

Non-Profit Agency Recognized by the State of Georgia for Program Excellence

CaringWorks, a non-profit agency working to end homelessness by providing access to safe, affordable housing and support services, was recently recognized by the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) as an Outstanding Behavioral Health Provider.

CaringWorks leadership, including Carol Collard, president and CEO; Scott Walker, vice president and chief operating officer; and Terence Wilkins, clinical director, accepted the award at a recent event at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Ga. DBHDD has six regions across the state. CaringWorks is located in Region 3 and was selected among hundreds of other agencies represented in the region.

“We are honored to receive this recognition. We are also thankful for our committed staff and excellent leadership for our behavioral health programs provided by our clinical director, Terence Wilkins, and chief operating officer, Scott Walker,” said Carol Collard, president and CEO, CaringWorks. “Eighty-seven percent of our clients have been diagnosed with a mental illness and 41 percent have a history of substance addiction. Receiving tailored behavioral health support and services is key to their long-term success.”

CaringWorks was selected for the honor as a result of its work in treating individuals who struggle with life challenges including substance abuse, mental health symptoms, and anger. The agency’s programs help individuals discover their strengths, build support systems, and develop healthy lifestyle sets with the goal of achieving life success. CaringWorks uses an evidence-based approach to effectively address emotional and behavioral issues for individuals from diverse backgrounds.

CaringWorks serviced nearly 830 clients in 2018 and continues to experience a surge in requests for services and resources. The agency provides both long and short-term housing, residential and outpatient treatment, deaf and hard of hearing programs, and essential supportive services
