Open to Help

Angela F. fell on hard times but she didn’t want to ask for help. Lacking a support system and experiencing mental health issues, she ultimately became homeless and lived in and out of shelters for a decade.

But then Angela found CaringWorks which helped her secure an apartment and access to mental health services. In addition to gaining a sense of safety and stability, her self-confidence soared.

Now Angela enjoys spending time with her two sons and granddaughter. She hopes to eventually buy her own home and find her true love. She also wants to share her story so that others who may be struggling know that it’s ok to ask for help.

“Be open to getting help,” she said. “It can come when you least expect it.”
